I saw Watchmen on Friday, and I must say as an original fan of the comic I still enjoyed the movie. although admititedly it wasn't the greatest idea to sit through the three-hour epic with a full bladder, but i digress. i loved loved loved the opening credits. it was so prettyyyy. :D
it was a little long, but meh. also, the sex scene was EPICC. it was shot beautifully, but...the song HAHAHA. not the greatest choice.
overall i liked it. i would watch it again, and it was a good adaptation of the book, although the book was obviously a lot better. (i liked the 'V for Vendetta' adaptation better, though.)

'kay, so the oscars are in 47 minutes. not an hour. but, anyway. i just wanna predict the winners and stuff before the show. :D
BEST PICTURE:
Who Will Win: Slumdog Millionaire, most likely. i didn't totally enjoy the movie though. but thats okay.
Who Should Win: MILK MILK MILK MILK
Surprise Win!: Frost/Nixon or The Reader. lulz. although The Reader was actually a good movie.
as much as i love love loveeedd 'The Curious Case', i don't totally think it should win.
BEST ACTOR:
Who Will / Should Win: Sean Penn. if he doesn't win, imma gonna kill someone.
Surprise Win!: Richard Jenkins, or Frank Langella.
BEST ACRESS:
Who Will / Should Win: KATE WINSLET! her performance was beautiful in 'The Reader', but your almost judging her for 'Revolutionary Road' too because that was such a good performance too and wasn't nominated at all. grrrr.
Surprise!: Angelina Jolie. not that great imo.
also, just saying, it'd be magical if Anne Hathaway won. Rachel Getting Married was good, and her performance in it was brilliant. i'd be happy if she wins.
BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR:
Sympathy Vote: Heath Ledger, duh. but don't get me started on The Dark Knight.
Who Should Win: Michael Shannon! he was only in 'Rev Road' for the second half of the movie but he stole the scene every time. he was chilling and perfect for what the movie needed.
it would be cool if Josh Brolin won for Milk, though. :---D
BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS:
Who Will Win: its kind of a tie in this one. it could go to any of them.
Who Should Win: Taraji P. Henson. i personally liked her the best out of all of them. though if Amy Adams wins, i'd still be happy. she was good in Doubt.
BEST DIRECTOR:
Who Will / Should Win: Danny Boyle for 'Slumdog Millionaire'. his cuts between the past and the present was brillaint, and he told the story the best out of everyone.
David Fincher would be a good pick, because 'Benjamin Button' is a tough thing to make and he pulled it off very well.
ADAPTED SCREENPLAY:
i'm going to say either 'Benjamin Button' or 'The Reader'. though they barley followed the story line for 'Button' (though both the movie / short story is brilliant in each respect.)
ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY:
either WALL-E or Milk, fo sho. i'd rather see WALL-E win, though.
ANIMATED FILM FEATURE:
WTF NO CONTEST WALL-E. Bolt was cute, and Kung-Fo Panda was meh.
thats it. we'll see how good i do after the awards! :)
